In the excitement of launching a new home textile collection, many new buyers are tempted to skip one crucial step: The Sample Phase.
We often hear: "I like the design on the screen, and I'm in a rush. Can we just go straight to bulk production?"
As a responsible manufacturer, our answer is always No.
Why? Because what you see on a backlit computer monitor (RGB) is never exactly what comes out on a textured fabric (CMYK). The sampling process is not just an extra cost; it is your insurance policy.
At UVAN, we have streamlined our prototyping process to be fast, accurate, and cost-effective. Here is how we turn your digital concept into a "Golden Sample."
In manufacturing terms, a Golden Sample (or Pre-Production Sample/PPS) is the final, approved prototype.
Once you sign off on this sample, it becomes the standard for quality. Our QC team will use it to check the bulk production. If the mass-produced goods don't match the Golden Sample, we are responsible. Without it, there is no standard to measure against.
To save you time and money, we don't always jump to sewing a full product immediately. We follow a logical progression:
Before we print anything, our design team checks your files.
Resolution Check: Is the file 150-300 DPI?
Layout Check: Will the pattern repeat correctly on a curtain or tablecloth?
Outcome: We send you a digital mockup for layout confirmation.

This is the most critical step for digital printing. A "Strike-off" is a small piece of fabric (usually A4 size) printed with your design.
Goal: To check Color Accuracy and Fabric Feel.
Why it matters: Colors look different on velvet vs. canvas. A strike-off lets you see the real-life saturation and sharpness.
Cost: Minimal.
Once the fabric strike-off is approved, we create the full, finished product.
Details: It includes the correct labels, zippers, packaging, and sewing method.
Goal: To check Workmanship and Sizing.
Outcome: This becomes your Golden Sample. You keep one, and we keep one (sealed in our sample room) for matching.

For large orders, before the container leaves our factory, we can pull a random piece from the bulk production and airmail it to you.
Goal: To prove that the bulk goods match the Golden Sample before you pay the final balance.
One of the biggest sources of friction in our industry is the RGB vs. CMYK debate.
Your Screen: Uses Light (Red, Green, Blue) to create colors. It can display bright neons and glowing hues.
Our Printers: Use Ink (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black) to print colors. Fabric absorbs ink, making colors naturally slightly darker or more matte.
The Prototyping phase bridges this gap. It allows us to adjust the color curves to get as close to your vision as physically possible.
We understand that paying for samples can feel like a burden. To support our B2B partners, UVAN offers a friendly policy:
"Sample Fee Refund upon Bulk Order"If you place a bulk order (meeting our standard amount) after approving the sample, the cost of the sample will be deducted from your final invoice.
ConclusionA Golden Sample is the contract between buyer and factory. It eliminates "surprises" and ensures that when your customers open their package, they see exactly what you intended them to see.
